The Gujarat Police is actively recruiting dedicated, disciplined, and physically fit individuals for the post of Police Constable (Lokrakshak). Key Roles & Responsibilities: • Maintenance of Law & Order: ensuring peace and stability within the assigned jurisdiction, controlling crowds during festivals, rallies, and protests (Bandobast duties). • Patrolling & Surveillance: Conducting regular day and night patrols (on foot or vehicle) to prevent criminal activities and identifying suspicious behavior in the neighborhood. • Crime Prevention & Investigation: assisting senior officers (Sub-Inspectors/Inspectors) in the investigation of crimes, gathering local intelligence, and securing crime scenes. • First Information Report (FIR): assisting in the registration of complaints and ensuring that citizens feel safe and heard when approaching the police station. • Traffic Management: Regulating traffic flow during peak hours to prevent congestion and accidents, and enforcing traffic rules to ensure road safety. • VIP Security: Providing security to protected persons, government officials, and during high-profile events or state visits. • Disaster Response: Acting as the first line of defense during natural calamities (cyclones, floods) to rescue affected citizens and coordinate relief operations. • Escort Duty: Escorting prisoners to courts for hearings and ensuring their secure transfer between jails and other locations.
